Welcome to the Fold, is a musical stage-play centered around a motley crew of students, one of which has recently committed suicide due to the stress of bullying, and the impact that this person’s life has had on their lives personally and within their community.

The definition of Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior manifested by the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when the behavior is habitual and involves an imbalance of power. It can include verbal harassment, physical assault or coercion and may be directed repeatedly towards particular victims, perhaps on the grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. The “imbalance of power” may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a “target”.  According to the statistical data compiled by the Bureau of Statistics, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the Cyberbullying Research Center, only 37% of teens were willing to report incidents of bullying in school, when the percentages of unreported incidents might actually be much higher. As of July 26, 2012 – 52 percent of polled students reported being cyber bullied, yet the same percent admitted they would not tell their parents when cyber bullying occurred. Statistical results also revealed; students with disabilities are the most likely to be victims of bullying, female students usually experience social and psychological bullying and are more often the victims of bullying than males, and male students are more likely to experience the majority of physical and verbal bullying.
