J Rêve International completed it’s 2nd Global Art & Culture Program in Cuba, April 2017.  The weeklong exchange included studies in culinary arts, Afro-Cuban dance, politics, culture and visual arts, in addition to yoga, private tours and visits to natural and manmade historic sites.

Participants included educators, arts patrons, and an engineer from Rochester, NY.  Lynn O’Brien stated, “This is my second time traveling with Jacqueline and J Reve International. I loved my first trip which was to Senegal but this was even more spectacular! Jacqueline put together a wonderful itinerary which included a variety of activities and encounters with locals. The food was amazing. Staying at the casa was fun and added to the experience. The tours were informative and our tour guides enhanced the experience with their own stories and additional information. Our guides were intelligent and personable. They made everything fun and were willing to discuss any topic, giving us much greater insight into life in Cuba. The beach and the mountains were stunning. I highly recommend you participate in this tour. You will not be disappointed. Jacqueline is amazing and such a positive and interesting person.”

Marci Marx commented, “The beach was my favorite part of the trip. It was absolutely heaven. How I loved hearing, seeing and smelling the ocean. And the sky; oh so beautiful. I would have gone to Cuba just for the beach; and the old cars! It was also fascinating to hear the Cuban side of the situation before the revolution.

Food is a central activity of mankind and one of the single most significant trademarks of a culture.
Mark Kurlansky.  Participants enjoyed learning how to make traditional Cuban dishes and drinks.  “Travel and cultural immersion are the best ways to really get to know another culture,” says Jacqueline Cofield, founder of J Rêve International.  “The wide range of the scope of the arts, ranging from culinary to dance, visual and beyond are pivotal lenses into cultural immersion.”

J Rêve International fosters a dynamic culturally creative community wherein education, civic engagement and leadership are hallmarks.  J Rêve International has serviced over 1000 artists, art enthusiasts, students, and educators with global exhibition, production, exchange, and educational programs.  Subsequent programs for 2017 are in the works.
