The practice of yoga is widely acknowledged for a range of physical and mental benefits, chief among them a reduction of stress, enhanced ability to focus, greater physical endurance, and a sense of calm and peace. J Rêve International has begun it’s global campaign to expose and empower educators and artists with these benefits by offering yoga and meditation classes. The program was initiated in Dubai at the Al Khaleej National School, where Jacqueline Cofield, founder of J Rêve International was invited to teach vinyasa yoga to the female teachers.
Cofield asserts, “Yoga is a pathway to creativity, and it serves educators and artists particularly well because of their occupational needs to operate under tremendous stress with a clear mind. Students will benefit from teachers who are centered and balanced. And, artists will clear blockages to creativity.” A certified yoga instructor, she completed her 200 hour training at the Vinyasa Yoga School in Rishikesh, India in May 2015. Rishikesh is known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World,” and the program included training in vinyasa, hatha, meditation, mantra, anatomy, philosophy, pranayama and programming.
Cofield also instructed teachers in Natchitoches, Louisiana in July, 2015, and taught mantra meditation to youth in Rochester, NY. J Rêve is developing a program involving creativity, yoga and meditation workshops and retreats internationally. The goal is to increase mindfulness and cultivate creativity, both of which have been globally recognized as a impactful considerations in education programming.
